HTC provides online coverage of select, local high school football games.
HTC officials announced today that online coverage, video and/or audio, will be available for select, local high school varsity football games at www.htcconnect.com this season.
Streaming video of all home games and audio for all away games will be available for Carolina Forest High School, Conway High School, Myrtle Beach High School, North Myrtle Beach High School, and Socastee High
School. Streaming audio of all home and away games will be available for Aynor High School and Loris High School.
“If you can’t make it to the games, HTC has you covered with high-speed internet, where you can catch all the live, online coverage of this season’s varsity games on www.htcconnect.com,” said Tom Vitt, HTC Director of Marketing. “HTC is proud to be the local headquarters for area high school football online. Carlton Lewis Promoted to HTC Chief Financial Officer May 31, 2013

Carlton Lewis, current HTC Comptroller, promoted to Chief Financial Officer.
HTC is proud to announce that Mr. Carlton Lewis, current HTC Comptroller, has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer. Carlton joined HTC in 1998 after graduating from Coastal Carolina University in 1997 with a degree in Business Administration and an emphasis in Finance. He earned his Masters Degree in Business Administration from Winthrop University in 2000. In addition, Carlton achieved his certification as a CFM, Certified Financial Manager, in 2005 and CMA, Certified Management Accountant, in 2008. He was also honored as a Senior Fellow in Class II of the Waccamaw Community Foundation’s American Leadership Forum in 2011.
A native of the Aynor community, Carlton has more than 15 years of experience holding various positions within the company including Senior Financial Analyst, Supervisor of Financial Operations, Manager of Financial Operations, and Comptroller. In his new position, he will continue to oversee all financial and accounting operations of the organization, as well as the Industry Affairs and Operator Services departments. Carlton will report directly to Mike Hagg, HTC Chief Executive Officer.

I am also blessed to work with wonderful individuals who have a genuine desire to make HTC successful and who uphold the values that have made it a great place to work. Carlton is a member of Berea Baptist Church where he serves as youth leader and teaches Sunday school. He also serves on the Advisory Board for the Finance Department at Coastal Carolina University. Carlton enjoys volunteering as an Assistant Coach for Little League at the Aynor Recreation Department.
He and his wife Abigail have two children, Claire and Cade.

HTC gives additional week for schools to recycle directories and cell phones.
Horry and Georgetown Counties, SC- Monday, April 29, 2013 – HTC announced today that the deadline has been extended to Friday, May 10 for the annual directory and cell phone recycling program. HTC is partnering with the Horry County Solid Waste Authority, Wendy’s, MyrtleBeachFamilyGolf.com, Medieval Times and Auntie Anne’s for the 2013 directory and cell phone recycling program that began on March 20. RECYCLING 2013 is the theme of this year’s program to benefit local schools, the community, and the environment. HTC encourages everyone to drop off their old telephone directories (HTC & any other directories accepted) or any used cell phones to an HTC office location in Carolina Forest, Conway, Socastee, Murrells Inlet, Myrtle Beach, Little River, or Loris. The goal is for each partnering school in Horry and Georgetown Counties to collect at least 2,013 directories.
For each directory that is delivered to any HTC branch office location, technology prizes will be awarded based on two criteria: 1) the schools that recycle the most directories, and 2) the schools that recycle the most directories based on the number of students in the school. First place ($2,500), second place ($1,000) and third place ($500) prizes will be awarded in each category. Technology prizes will include desktop computers, laptops, smart boards, iPads and more.
For each cell phone recycled, HTC will donate a minimum of $1.00 per phone all the way up to $39 per phone to the Horry County Schools Fund for Homeless Students. Plus, each person donating a directory or cell phone will receive a rack card with coupons good for a FREE small FROSTY from Wendy’s, a FREE pretzel with the purchase of a pretzel from Auntie Anne’s, a FREE kid’s admission to Medieval Times, and a 50% off coupon for MyrtleBeachFamilyGolf.com. In addition, the top three schools that recycle the most phone books will receive prizes for the top participating class including: 1) Wendy’s FREE Kid’s Meal coupons for the students and teachers in the top class of those schools, 2) prizes from Medieval Times!

When telephone books are recycled, they are used for such things as the manufacturing of ceiling tiles, textbooks, insulation, and envelopes for telephone bills. When cell phones are recycled, they are refurbished and redeployed in areas of the world where there are no land (wire) lines, or, where the cost of a new phone is prohibitive. Phones that cannot be refurbished or donated will be recycled and disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner.

Old directories and cell phones may be dropped off at any HTC branch office location. The Horry County Solid Waste Authority has provided a large recycling bin at the HTC Business office on Highway 701 North in Conway to handle deliveries of 25 or more. HTC branch office locations will not be able to handle drops in excess of 25 directories. In 2012, 70 public and private schools in Horry and Georgetown Counties participated with over 40,241 directories recycled instead of going into the landfill. Participating schools and local citizens also recycled 390 old cell phones with a value of $600. HTC presented that donation to the Horry County Schools fund for Homeless Students. Over the last 14 years, HTC has contributed more than $127,061.00 needed by participating and winning schools to purchase new technology in the classroom.

HTC and the City of Conway recently announced that Wi-Fi access is available at the Conway Marina in the Riverfront Park area. Anyone may utilize the HTC-Conway Marina wireless network trial powered by HTC at no charge. Access will be available to all who accept the terms and conditions.
“We are extremely proud to provide the connection for local residents and visitors to enjoy wireless internet access powered by HTC at the Conway Marina,” says Brent Groome, HTC Chief Executive-Customer Operations. “We have enjoyed working with Bill Graham and the City of Conway in making this possible. We hope residents and visitors will take advantage of the opportunity to access the wireless network at their convenience for work or pleasure. Based upon the wireless usage at the Marina, we are hoping this may be a service that could be expanded to other locations.”

The wireless network at the Conway Marina powered by HTC will be simple for anyone to access as needed. Those who wish to use Wi-Fi at the Conway Marina will be prompted to connect to the wireless network through an HTC-Conway Marina access screen. HTC to Host Green Fair April 18 at Hwy 501 Store April 11, 2013

HTC will host a Green Fair and promote green initiatives on April 18 at Highway 501 store.
HTC will host a Green Fair and Earth Month celebration on Thursday, April 18, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the HTC store on Highway 501 across from HGTC. HTC, along with other environmentally savvy companies such as the Horry County Solid Waste Authority and Santee Cooper, will present educational programs and provide information about green initiatives at this special event in honor of Earth Month. Everyone is invited to join in the celebration.
Visitors to the Green Fair will be able to:
•Drop off old telephone directories and cell phones for recycling and receive coupons from Wendy’s, Auntie Anne’s, Medieval Times and MyrtleBeachFamilyGolf.com,

Directory and Cell Phone Recycling
HTC has taken a leadership role in reducing its eco-footprint with annual directory and cell phone recycling efforts in the spring. Since 1998, 732 tons of directories have been recycled and more than 21,000 cell phones have been recycled in the last nine years instead of going into landfills. As a result of the recycling programs, HTC has contributed more than $127,000 to public and private schools in Horry and Georgetown Counties over the past 14 years.
Recycling Bins Company-wide
HTC encourages employees to be environmentally responsible by placing recycling bins throughout the organization for paper and plastic waste. Employees are also conservative with energy by turning off lights and powering down computers when not in use.
Paper Bags
HTC has transitioned from plastic bags to paper bags that are 100% recyclable and biodegradable. Customers receive paper bags instead of plastic bags when purchasing cell phones, accessories, DVRs and other equipment.

HTC Presents Make a Splash Monday at the Pelicans April 1, 2013

HTC sponsors Monday home games at the Myrtle Beach Pelicans to benefit the “Backpack Buddies” program.
HTC is connecting with the Myrtle Beach Pelicans this season as the presenting sponsor of the “Make a Splash Mondays” and aiding the “Backpack Buddies” program in Horry County. The company is encouraging the community to bring non-perishable food items to the 11 Monday home games to help stock the “Backpack Buddies” food bank for the 2013-14 school year.
The first “Make a Splash Monday” is scheduled for April 15. Those that donate a non-perishable food item will receive half-price admissions as well as complimentary autographed baseball cards from Pelicans players. The cards will feature the players doing work in the community. Items such as Ramen noodles, pop tarts, individual servings of pudding, individual servings of apple sauce, fruit cups, beanie weenies, Vienna sausage, cereal, raviolis (pop top cans), chicken noodle soup (pop top cans) will be accepted as donations.
“HTC connects with the Pelicans each year, and we are looking forward to another successful season for the players and the fans,” said Tom Vitt, director of marketing at HTC. “HTC is proud to support the team and the community through a worthy cause such as the Backpack Buddies program. HTC Restores Service & Assists Fire Victims March 19, 2013

HTC has special procedures in place for Windsor Green fire victims. Customers who have lost their homes due to the fire can contact an HTC Customer Service Representative at 843-365-2154. HTC is doing everything it can to work with victims and minimize the stress and financial impact.
HTC is ready to help customers that need to disconnect billing and will not charge for installation of new service at temporary residences. HTC will also arrange temporary email accounts for those that had broadband so customers can keep their email accounts active and stay in touch with family and business.
HTC crews were on site Monday and all services have been restored.
Special procedures:
• Installation fees of services at temporary/new locations will be waived for customers.
• Broadband email accounts will not be disconnected and remain temporarily active.
• Fees for temporary email accounts will be waived.
• A charging station is available at the Plex, temporary housing for the Windsor Green residents.
An HTC Installation & Repair crew was on site in Carolina Forest on Monday, March 18, working to restore services to homes that survived the Windsor Green fire.

HTC Connects with Conway High School to Advance Athletics January 9, 2013

HTC officials presented $2,520 to the Conway High School Solid Gold Club at a recent Conway High School Booster Club Board Meeting. The donation wraps up a “Backyard Benefits” campaign held during the 2012 football season.
HTC and Conway High School entered into the partnership this fall to promote the “Backyard Benefits” program in the hopes that both parties would benefit. For each new customer who signed up for HTC services in the Conway High School attendance area, HTC made a donation to Conway Solid Gold. The following five services were eligible for promotion; local telephone, cable television, wireless, high-speed internet and home security.
“HTC is pleased with the results of the “Backyard Benefits” program. Through our long-standing partnership with Conway High School, we’ve developed relationships with the booster club members, school supporters and community leaders to reach a common goal. We believe these relationships have helped us showcase the advantages of choosing HTC as the preferred local telecommunications provider. HTC looks forward to providing more opportunities to champion local schools,” said Brent Groome, Chief Executive of Customer Operations at HTC.
“It has been a pleasure working with HTC again in conjunction with the Backyard Benefits program. The support of the business community is crucial for our athletic programs, and Conway High School is grateful for the continued patronage. HTC was there to provide the financial support we needed during the construction of the new Backyard, and HTC continues to be there to support our ongoing efforts in athletics,” said Chuck Jordan, Athletic Director of Conway High School Athletics.

HTC Holiday Hours December 19, 2012

As each day goes by, we’re getting ever so closer to Christmas.
And with the holiday season upon us, we’re looking forward to the extra time we’ll be able to spend with our families. In order for us to do that, HTC will be operating during the following hours over the holidays:
Christmas Eve
- Coastal Grand Mall – 7 AM – 6 PM
- Call Center 8 AM – 4 PM
- All other branch offices – Open 8 AM – 4 PM
Christmas Day
- All locations and customer service closed
New Year’s Day
- Coastal Grand Mall – Regular mall hours
- All other locations and customer service closed
We will be operating regular business hours all other days during the holiday season. So, make sure to come by and see us!
